You may understand what happened to you, but still feel it living inside your body.
The Mountain Summit Healing Journey
The Mountain Summit Healing Journey is a guided, trauma-aware experience designed to help you feel grounded, reconnect with yourself, and take the next meaningful step forward—one breath, one symbol, and one mountain moment at a time.
You do not have to see the entire path to take the next step.
Healing can feel like standing at the base of a mountain. You know there is something beyond where you are, but the path may be hidden by fog, fear, exhaustion, or everything you have already survived.
The Mountain Summit Healing Journey was created to help you find your footing again.
You may understand what happened to you, but still feel it living inside your body.
You may know that you are safe, but your nervous system does not always believe it.
You may feel grounded one day and completely disconnected the next.
You may be tired of being told to move on when your body is still trying to protect you.
You may want to heal but feel overwhelmed by how much there is to work through.
This journey is about learning how to pause, breathe, ground, recognize what your body is communicating, and move forward without abandoning yourself along the way.
The goal is not to become someone who never struggles. The goal is to become someone who knows how to find herself when she does.
It is not about pretending to be positive.
It is not about pushing through every feeling.
It is not about climbing faster than your nervous system is ready to climb.
The summit is not perfection.
The summit is not never being triggered again.
The summit is becoming someone who knows how to return to herself.
Journey step 01
Use simple grounding practices to help you reconnect with your body and the present moment.
Journey step 02
Build a place of safety within yourself through guided breathing, visualization, and sensory support.
Journey step 03
Learn to notice what your body is doing without immediately judging, criticizing, or abandoning yourself.
Journey step 04
Explore the protective patterns, emotions, and responses that developed for a reason.
Journey step 05
Create a collection of practices, symbols, affirmations, and physical reminders you can reach for during difficult moments.
Journey step 06
Define what healing, self-trust, and forward movement mean for you—not what someone else says they should mean.
The Mountain Summit Healing Journey is a self-paced healing experience created for the moments when you feel overwhelmed, emotionally activated, disconnected, stuck, or unsure of what your next step should be.
Through grounding practices, guided reflections, mountain symbolism, nervous-system support, and compassionate inner work, you will begin building your own pathway back to safety, self-trust, and emotional steadiness.
Explore the Mountain Summit JourneySometimes you will want to journal.
Sometimes you will want to listen to a grounding practice.
Sometimes you will need a visual symbol that helps you understand what you are experiencing.
And sometimes you will need something physical to hold while you remind yourself:
I am here. I am safe in this moment. I can take one step at a time.
That is why the Mountain Summit Healing Journey can be supported by three connected tools.
The Path
The guided workbook and healing experience leads you through grounding, reflection, self-connection, emotional regulation, and meaningful forward movement.
It is not a race to the top.
It is a compassionate pathway that helps you meet yourself exactly where you are.
The Companions
The Mountain Guides offer supportive messages, animal wisdom, mountain symbolism, and grounding prompts to help you recognize what you may need in a particular moment.
A guide may remind you of your courage.
Another may invite you to rest.
One may help you protect your boundaries.
Another may remind you to trust your intuition, adapt to changing conditions, or move forward with gentleness.
The mountain itself may represent strength and perspective.
The evergreen may represent endurance.
The aspen may remind you that you are connected even when you feel alone.
The Snake River may encourage you to move with life rather than forcing the path.
The waterfall may symbolize release.
The trail may remind you that progress is made one step at a time.
The sunrise may represent a new beginning.
The morning fog may remind you that the path can still exist even when you cannot see very far ahead.
The Anchors
Mountain Tokens are physical or symbolic objects that help bring the healing experience into the present moment.
You may hold one during a grounding practice, carry it in your pocket, place it on your desk, or keep it near your healing space.
Your token may be a feather, a piece of obsidian, a black stone, a pinecone, a river rock, a piece of wood, a mountain charm, or something meaningful that you already own.
You do not need to purchase an expensive object for it to carry meaning.
You may find something in nature.
You may use something you already have.
You may choose a simple object and decide what it will represent.
The workbook
The workbook helps you understand and move through the experience.
The Mountain Guides
The Mountain Guides help you identify the message, strength, or support you may need.
The Mountain Tokens
The Mountain Tokens help bring that message into the physical world so you have something tangible to return to when your nervous system feels overwhelmed.
The complete experience
Together, they create a healing experience that is reflective, visual, emotional, and grounding.

Grounding
There may be moments when you cannot think your way through what you are feeling.
You may feel emotionally flooded, numb, disconnected, frightened, frozen, or unsure of what you need.
In those moments, you do not need another long list of everything you should be doing.
You need one gentle place to begin.
You do not have to climb the entire mountain from inside one difficult moment.
One gentle place to begin

Reach for a token.

Take one grounding breath.

Founder of Healing That Matters
Healing That Matters was created from my own experience of living with trauma, navigating CPTSD, experiencing dissociation, rebuilding trust with my body, and learning how to ground myself in the middle of real life.
I created it because I know what it is like to need something gentle, tangible, and compassionate when traditional advice does not feel like enough.
This journey brings together the practices, symbols, reflections, and grounding tools that helped me begin finding my way back to myself.
My hope is that they help you find your way back to yourself too.
